House attacked with grenade in Hayatabad

PESHAWAR: A hand grenade was lobbed into a house in the posh Hayatabad Town, creating a scare.The police said the attack was made on the night between Thursday and Friday in the Phase 2 of the township.“Unidentified attackers threw a hand grenade at the house of one, Adnan Sami, in Phase-2,” said a police official, adding that the explosion yet damaged the boundary wall of the house but did not cause any casualty.

Police later reached the spot and started an investigation.Grenade attacks on houses and properties have recorded an increase for the last few days.The other day a petrol pump was attacked on Ring Road near Dir Colony while a house was targeted in Garhi Qamardin on Kohat Road.Most of these attacks are carried out by extortionists while in a few incidents, rivals hurl grenades to terrorize opponents.
