Dengue fever: awareness walk held in Dir

DIR: Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal’s Department of Zoology and University Health Unit organised an awareness walk about dengue fever

The event was attended by administrative officers, faculty members, and students.The chairman of the Department of Zoology, Dr. Zia Khalil, and the Health Unit’s official Rahimullah addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of awareness and preventive measures against dengue fever.

The university has also distributed awareness brochures and briefed students on individual preventive measures. Dr Zia Khalil announced that the awareness campaign will be expanded, and a camp will be set up in the university to educate students about dengue fever prevention.

Meanwhile, District Police Office, Upper Dir, Waqar Ahmed has said action against criminals and drug traffickers has been going on in the district over the last six months.He said that 61 absconders, including 6,777 suspects, have been arrested, and a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and drugs have been seized.

The police also recovered 44 kg of hashish, 819 grams of ice and 680 grams of opium, he added.
