NOWSHERA: One of the nominated accused on Tuesday confessed to have murdered Pashto CD drama actress Khushbo and then dumped the body at Khushmuqam near Wapda Colony.
Recording a statement with police after obtaining bail before arrest from the sessions court in Pabbi, Shaukat admitted that he had married Khushbo some three years ago under Shariah law and had purchased a separate house for her at Khwaja Town in Peshawar.
He said that he was also providing sustenance to his wife but the artiste was not ready to leave her field of showbiz and acting in Pashto CD dramas. He said that it infuriated him and took the extreme step.
The man also said that the other nominated accused Falak Niaz was his friend and he had nothingto do with the murder of Khushbo. It may be mentioned that the bullet-riddled body of actress Khushbo was recovered from Khushmuqam near Wapda Colony on Monday.
Shehryar, a resident of Swabi, who is currently living in Khwaja Town in Peshawar, had told the police that he was informed someone that the bullet-riddled body of his sister Khushbo was lying in the fields in Khushmuqam near the Wapda Colony.
He said that his sister was an artiste and working in Pashto CD dramas and stage programmes. The complainant had nominated Shaukat and Falak Niaz, residents of Titara in Akbarpura, for the murder of his sister.
