MINGORA: A tree plantation drive was launched in the scenic Malam Jabba valley here on Wednesday.Tree saplings were distributed among the locals of Malam Jabba, and an awareness seminar was arranged by a private organisation.
Representatives from the civil and military administration, forest department officers, officials, local elders, and senior officials participated in the ceremony. Addressing the ceremony, the officials said that Pakistan is among the countries most affected by climate change, and to counter its calamities, every Pakistani should plant more and more trees.
They urged the government and non-governmental organisations to come forward and play their due role in making Pakistan a green country. Speaking at the ceremony, Waheedullah Qarar said that it was the need of the hour to plant maximum plants.
