ISLAMABAD: An understanding has been reached between the federal government and Punjab government on the issue of appointment of IG Islamabad.
According to sources, the newly appointed IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi will be relieved on Monday by the Punjab government.
According to Punjab government sources, Ali Nasir Rizvi will take charge of his post on Tuesday. Ali Nasir is currently performing his duties as DIG Operations Lahore.
The sources said if an officer is required from Punjab in future, permission must be taken from the Punjab chief minister.
In this regard, the Punjab government has clarified its position to the Federation. According to the sources, the Punjab government is of the opinion that there is already shortage of officers in Punjab and the Establishment Division should use its own officers.
