LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club witnessed a flurry of surprises right from the opening two races setting the tone for an eventful day at the track. Favourites faltered, and underdogs triumphed, creating an atmosphere of unpredictability.
In the first race of the day, expectations were high for Abdullah Champions. However, Khizer Choice defied predictions by securing the win, while Abdullah Champions settled for second place. Adding to the intrigue, Pocket Power claimed the third position.
The trend of unexpected results continued into the second race, as Sultan Jahaniya stunned the crowd by emerging victorious despite being considered a long shot. Desert Parri, the favourite, had to settle for second place, while Merchant Of Venus slipped to third position, disappointing backers.
Black Tiger lived up to expectations in the third race, clinching victory as anticipated. However, surprises came from Luckvir, securing second place, and Dur-e-Adan claiming the third spot.
Dancing Bird sprang a major upset in the fourth race, seizing victory against the odds. Sehar settled for second place, while Samore City slipped to third position, contrary to expectations.
Sardar justified its status as the favourite by clinching victory in the prestigious Spring Cup race, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:39 4/5 for eight furlongs. However, surprises came from Dil Awaiz, securing second place, and Prodigal Rain claiming the third spot, against expectations.
