This refers to the letter ‘Conscience lost and found’ (March 29, 2024) by Shakir Lakhani. The timing of these complaints over alleged interference is indeed intriguing. As an ordinary citizen, I cannot understand why such protests were not made earlier.
The political polarization of the last decade or so has seemingly had a very adverse effect on our social fibre and behaviour. One would expect public servants and officials to be an exception to this trend and to set an example for others. I hope that stern and principled decisions are made on this matter.
