LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned counsel for the federal government in the matter of closure of social media app X.
The petition filed by Hafiz Shakir Mehmood came up for hearing before a single bench of LHC led by Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan.
The petitioner took the plea that closing X is tantamount to snatching freedom and basic rights. Freedom of any citizen cannot be snatched constitutionally. Federal government and others have been made respondents in the petition.
