PESHAWAR: The parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the provincial capital, received rain and heavy snowfall on Wednesday.
The upper parts of Hazara and Malakand divisions received heavy downpour and snowfall early in the day.
The rain, which started in Mansehra, Kolai-Pals, Torghar, Upper Kohistan and Lower Kohistan districts in the early morning, continued intermittently the entire day, turning the weather cold.
The linked roads in Siran, Konsh and Kaghan valleys in Mansehra were blocked to traffic because of landslides triggered by the rain.
The deputy commissioner Upper Kohistan, Irfanullah Mehsud when approached said the traffic on Karakoram Highway was routine.
“The artery is cleared to all sorts of traffic as no fresh incidence of landslides occurred anywhere in the district,” he said. In Malakand division, the mountainous areas in Swat and Chitral received fresh snowfall, increasing cold and multiplying the miseries of the dwellers.
