IGP orders action against unlicenced drivers

LAHORE: Inspector General Police Punjab (IGP) Punjab Dr Usman Anwar on Friday issued a special message from Aabshar Khidmat Centre that strict legal action would be taken against motorists who do not have licences.

He said all obstacles to issuing driving licence online were removed, adding that more than 34 laws in this regard had been amended. The IG Punjab declared that any vehicle driven by an individual without a licence would face strict action and directed the authorities concerned to gear up their action. On this occasion, additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig said that in a few weeks 12.4 million citizens got their driving licences.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar met police employees and their families at the Central Police Office on Friday and after listening to the problems and requests issued on the spot orders to resolve their issues immediately.

IG Punjab directed the DIG Establishment II to provide relief on the request of Constable M Siddique's son's recruitment. He forwarded the request of transfer of Inspector Akbar Ghani to another district to Additional IG Punjab for action according to merit.

On the request of the late Inspector Ghulam Abbas' wife, IG Punjab directed DIGEstablishment II to provide relief. He directed the RPO Faisalabad to provide relief through immediate action on the request of Driver Constable Zahoor Ahmed.

IGP directed to take action on the promotion requests of Sub-Inspectors Ijaz Aslam and Farrukh Shahzad. Sialkot Constable Babar Mushtaq's request has been sent to AIG Discipline for immediate action, while on the transfer requests of Head Constable Riasat Ali and Syed Saqib Mahmood, IGP Punjab directed the DIG establishment to take action according to merit.

IG Punjab directed to take immediate action on the requests submitted by the employees and send the reports to the Central Police Office. He said that the welfare of the force is among the top priorities and all possible relief will be given to them as per merit.
