PTI-backed candidates win all Swabi seats

SWABI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed independent candidates won all seven seats of the national and provincial assemblies from the district.

There were two constituencies of the national assembly and five seats of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in Swabi district. They contested elections from all these constituencies as independent candidates, advocating for votes in support of Imran Khan, who has been incarcerated in various cases.

In NA-19, Swabi-1, Asad Qaiser received 115,635 votes, with Maulana Ali of JUIF finishing as the runner-up candidate, garnering 45,567 votes.

In NA-20, Swabi-2, Shahram Khan Tarakai secured 122,965 votes, while the runner-up candidate, ANP’s Waris Khan, obtained 47,536 votes.

PTI-backed Rangaiz Khan won from PK-49 with 36,692 votes, and JUI-F’s Ghafoor Khan Jadoon came in second with 15,312 votes.

Aqibullah Khan, brother of Asad Qaiser, emerged victorious from PK-50 Swabi-2 with 40,870 votes, while PML-N’s Babar Khan secured 21,089 votes to stand second.

In PK-51, Swabi-3, PTI’s Abdul Kareem received 39,653 votes, with PML-N’s Nawabzada finishing as the runner-up with 17,898 votes.

The PTI-supported Faisal Khan Tarakai won from PK-52 with 42,269 votes, while ANP’s Tauseef Ijaz stood second with 23,317 votes. Murtaza Khan Tarakai clinched victory from PK-53 with 40,825 votes, and ANP’s Zahid Khan finished as the runner-up with 30,662 votes.
