“They have nothing to do with the welfare of the people. They win the elections through catchy slogans and shift the national wealth abroad,” he told public gatherings in Jamrud and Landikotal in Khyber district. The JI leader said the inflation had increased manifold due to the corruption and wrong policies of the rulers.

“Our country is rich in natural resources but the heads of a few political parties and their families have occupied the maximum shares. They are not even ready to pay taxes,” he added.

Mushtaq Ahmad said the country would be freed from the slavery of international financial institutions if the wealthy people started paying taxes properly.

“We want Pakistan to be a truly Islamic welfare state where all citizens enjoy equal rights,” he said, adding the implementation of Shariah was the only panacea to all ills.

Expressing concern over the law and order situation in the country, he said extra-judicial killings and disappearance was against the law of Pakistan.

He also condemned Israel for killing innocent Muslims in Palestine and lamented the silence of the Muslim rulers.
