PTI local leader shot dead in Swabi
SWABI: A leading local leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and prominent businessman Shah Khalid was shot here on Thursday due old enmity, police officials said.
The PTI leader was on his way after visiting the District Headquarters Hospital when two motorcyclists opened fire on his car on Swabi-Jehangira Road, killing him on the spot.The assailants managed to escape. His dead body was taken to the DHQ hospital for autopsy. The relatives of the deceased nominated Anwarzaib in the first information report.
Shah Kahlid’s nephew Izhar Ali, who also sustained injuries in the attack, accused Awarzaib of opening fire on them with a pistol.Shah Khalid had contested the party election for the slot of district president but could not succeed. However, he was among the top leaders of PTI, especially in Chota Lahor Tehsil city. He was also a prominent businessman of the area.
