194 file papers in Swabi for 2 NA & 5 PA seats
SWABI: A total of 194 candidates have filed their nomination papers for two national assembly and five provincial assembly constituencies in the district as Sunday was the last day for filing the nomination papers to contest upcoming general elections on February 8, 2024.
Thirty-four candidates have submitted their nomination papers from NA-19, Swabi-1 and 26 candidates filed nomination papers for NA-20, Swabi-ii. Prominent candidates from NA-19 are Shahnawaz Khan of Awami National Party, Maulana Fazal Ali of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl and Asad Qaiser, former speaker of National Assembly, of PTI.
From NA-20, leading candidates are Usman Khan Tarakai of Pakistan People’s Party, Shahram Khan Tarakai of PTI and Waris Khan of ANP.For PK-49, Swabi-1, a total of 27 candidates belonging to different political parties and independents, have submitted their nomination papers.
Similarly, for PK-50, Swabi-II24 candidates have filed their nomination papers to contest the upcoming general elections.For PK 52, Swabi-III total 29 candidates have filed their nomination papers and the number of candidates for PK-52, Swabi-iv was 25.For PK-53, Swabi-v total 29 candidates have submitted their papers.
