LAHORE: Upholding the objection of registrar office, Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected the petition against the meeting of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and IG Punjab with the US ambassador.
The petition came up for hearing before justice Shujaat Ali Khan of LHC Tuesday. The court remarked the president and prime minister cannot be made respondents directly. The petitioner had taken the plea that the meeting of IG Punjab and CEC with US ambassador would influence election result. The application was sent to the president and prime minister against the two officers but they did not entertain it.
