MANSEHRA: The transporters on Friday warned the Regional Transport Authority in Hazara to withdraw its recently issued fare list, or else they would observe a wheel-jam.
“Regional Transport Authority has decreased fares without taking into consideration the highest inflation and soaring prices of petroleum products and compressed natural gas, which is unacceptable to us at any cost,” Jan Alam, the president of Hazara Transport Union, told reporters here.
Flanked by other office-bearers of the union, he said that a delegation of transporters from Hazara and the rest of the province would meet the secretary transport authority in Peshawar on Monday to sort out the issue. “And we will observe a complete wheel-jam strike if the authorities fail to address our grievances,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Secretary of the transport union, Pervez Khan Swati said that they were not following fares’ list issued by RTI in Hazara recently. “The prices of petrol, diesel and CNG have increased manifold due to which our business is on the verge of collapse,” he added.
