Number of people seeing inflation as major problem declines: survey
ISLAMABAD: The number of Pakistanis, who called inflation, poverty and hike in electricity tariff major problems they were facing, have decreased, but still price hike is the biggest problem of people.
It was revealed in fourth quarterly Consumer Confidence Survey carried out by Ipsos. A thousand people participated from across the country in the survey conducted from Oct 31 to Nov 3.
The survey witnessed a five percent decrease in the number of Pakistanis whose biggest problem was inflation, but still 53 percent say it was the biggest problem. In the previous survey the count was 58 percent.
The percentage of the people, who are concerned about unemployment, has reached 20 percent with an increase of six percent.The people who see poverty as an important problem have also grown by one percent to five percent. While the people who worry about the inflated bills have decreased by nine percent. It figure was 13 percent in the previous survey, but now it is four percent.
Four percent people have shown concern about institutes meddling into each other’s domains. Three percent are worried about corruption, nepotism, bribery and adulteration. Two percent are uneasy due to load-shedding while, one percent say additional taxes are the major problem in Pakistan.
