Panama Papers exposed true faces of rulers: Siraj
Asks govt to from commission in 10 days or face action
BISHAM: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq on Friday said the Panama Papers exposed the true faces of the rulers. Speaking at a gathering in Puran in Shangla district, the JI chief said the Panama Leaks would provide a base for a revolution in the country.
He said millions of children could not get education and people were selling their body parts due to abject poverty but the rulers were living a luxurious life and shifted their wealth abroad. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should return to the country after receiving treatment and defend his family in the case of offshore holdings and assets.
“We give the federal government 10-day to form a judicial commission under the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to investigate the Panama Leaks. We will decide our future course of line after the end of the deadline,” he added.
Responding to a question whether the JI would support the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) possible march on Raiwind in Lahore, Sirajul Haq said that JI and PTI were two different political parties.
He said the JI would announce its course of action on April 24. “We will welcome any political party that announce support to us against the government,” he added. Criticising the Women Protection Bill passed by the Punjab Assembly, he said leaders of some political parties wanted to introduce a Western-like system in the country. “We would not accept such a system come what may,” he added.
