M.Phil thesis defended
PESHAWAR: Malik Achakzai has successfully defended his M.Phil thesis before examiners and a supervisor from the Department of Media Studies, University of Balochistan.
He did his research on “Framing of Afghanistan” in the BBC World Service, “A Wish for Afghanistan” podcast broadcasted in English soon after the collapse of Afghan Republic on 15th August 2021.
The contents portrays Afghanistan and the political situation, comprising 10 episodes and 12 diverse political, social, cultural, historical and diplomatic opinions documented by the British journalist Lyse Doucet-who covers Afghanistan for more than three decades.
Achakzai analysed the podcast of the BBC World Service, having 12 interviews with themes like war, peace, women rights.
Professor Dr Babrak Niaz was his internal supervisor and Dr. Adnan Malik from Bahawalpur University was the external examiner.
