Sonakshi Sinha slams Modi after Shatrughan Sinha's exit from BJP
Sonakshi Sinha said father Shatrughan Sinha didn't get the respect he deserve in BJP.
After Bollywood's veteran actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha left Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ruling-Bharat Janata Party (BJP), his daughter Sonakshi Sinha is making headlines for her honest views about her father's exit.
Slamming PM Modi, the 'Kalank' actress said that her father should have quit the party a long time back.
“Being a party member from the beginning from the time of JP Narayan ji, Atal ji and Advani ji, my father has a lot of respect within the party and I feel the entire group has not been given the respect they deserve. I think he has done it a bit too late, and he should've done it long back."
Sonakshi added that if one is not happy about things around them, they should not shy away from change.
“I think if you are not happy with how things are going on around you, you should not shy away from change. That's what he did.”
Shatrughan Sinha took to social media to announce his exit from BJP after he met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
He wrote, “Painfully....on the way out of BJP," after the party declared its electoral candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad from Bihar Patna Sahib, which has been Shatrughan's constituency for the last 10 years.
On the work front, Sonakshi will next be seen in Karan Johar's period film 'Kalank' alongside other Bollywood A-listers including Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Alia Bhatt.
The film will see the light of day on April 17.
