Pakistani actor Fawad Khan had a first information report (FIR) lodged against him after his family refused to give anti-polio vaccination drops to his children on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson, the Hamsafar actor was booked by the administration of an anti-polio team over the matter at the Faisal Town police station.
It was further revealed that including the actor, cases against six others were also filed four of which were at Faisal Town police station while the other two were registered with the Model Town police station.
Responding to the news of the actor getting booked, Prime Minister’s polio taskforce spokesperson Babar bin Ata stated: “As per DC Lahore, teams wanted to immunise Fawad's daughter since yesterday. 1st his driver misbehaved with teams followed by his family. Mr. Fawad is our pride, I request him to allow teams to vaccinate the child. Lahore has had a polio case last week, we must protect the child.”
The country’s first National Polio Campaign 2019 that began earlier last month, aims to eradicate the disease by vaccinating over eight million children aged below five.
