Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators: PSL 2019 Match 3 preview
Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators preview: Captains of both teams remain the same as they were in the previous editions of the PSL. The West Indies allrounder Darren Sammy is captaining Peshawar Zalmi while skipper of the national team Sarfraz Ahmed is leading Quetta Gladiators.
The third Twenty20 match in the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be played tonight (Friday) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.
Captains of both teams remain the same as they were in the previous editions of the PSL. The West Indies allrounder Darren Sammy is captaining Peshawar Zalmi while skipper of the national team Sarfraz Ahmed is leading Quetta Gladiators.
Peshawar won the title once – in PSL - 2017 whereas Quetta could not win any title despite being reached the final in the first two successive editions, going down to Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi respectively, and were then knocked out by one run in the first Eliminator in 2018, to Peshawar again.
However, the Zalmi are hoping to go one better than last season after they narrowly missed out on defending their 2017 PSL title as they ended runners-up last year.
The Gladiators are also hoping to rediscover their form of 2016 and 2017 when they were runners-up after failing at the play-off stage of the competition in 2018.
Peshawar Zalmi boast Wahab Riaz amongst their ranks and he is the highest wicket-taker in the history of PSL. He is supported by Hasan Ali to provide an excellent pace attack which may be complemented by the allround prowess of Kieron Pollard.
There could be a cause of concern in the form of Peshawar’s top-order batting with a lot of pressure on Misbah-ul-Haq but there could be a lack of bigger hitting batsmen in the side.
