A true-crime podcast by the name of ‘Serial’ that had made waves in 2014 is now being brought on screen as a documentary by Jemima Goldsmith production company.
The podcast that debuted in 2014 had attracted an enormous number of people, with its producer and presenter Sarah Koenig digging into the 1999 case of disappearance and murder of 18 year old student, Hae Min Lee at Baltimore County high school, and consequent conviction of Adnan Syed, her ex-boyfriend.
“Two years in the making and we are excited to announce that our company Instinct Productions & Working Title are bringing Adnan Syed’s story (the subject of the global podcast phenomenon SERIAL) to the screen. Directed by the brilliant Amy Berg,” tweeted the ex-wife of former cricket hero Imran Khan.
The series, as revealed by Khan has been in production since 2015 and it will revise the occurrences that tread up to the eventual vanishing of Hae Min Lee till the current period where Adnan is behind bars and anticipating a new trial.
As per reports, the four hour documentary series titled “The Case Against Adnan Syed” is being directed by Academy Award nominee Amy Berg, which will be featuring “new discoveries, as well as groundbreaking revelations that challenge the state’s case.”
