Janhvi appears in mother's saree to collect Sridevi's National Film Award

NEW DELHI: In an emotional moment, Sridevi's daughters Janhvi, Khushi and husband Boney Kapoor received the Bollywood’s late superstar's Best Actress National Award at a ceremony in New Delhi on Thursday.

Janhvi, a brilliant actress, was dressed in mother's saree at the ocassion that made the audience that for what designer Manish Malhotra described on social media as an "emotional and precious moment."

Months after Sridevi's accidental death in Dubai, she was honoured with her first ever National Award  for her role in 2017 movie MOM, playing as a mother who seeks revenge for her daughter's rape. 

Regarding the award  very special for family, Janhvi Kapoor thanked the jury and the government for recognising the hard work of her late mother who contributed a lot in Bollywood  pawing the ways for female talents in the industry.

The trio attended the rehearsals of the event on Wednesday. Sridevi's fans  shared Several videos and photos of them on social media handles.
