LAHORE: Left-arm pacer Rahat Ali bowled extremely well to bowl out Peshawar Zalmi for 157 in exact 20 overs despite an aggressive 62 by Liam Dawson in the first eliminator in the third edition of the Pakistan Super League here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday night.

Rahat bagged four wickets for just 16 runs in his quota of four overs.

After being sent into bat, Peshawar Zalmi made a disastrous start losing two early wickets for only ten runs on the board but Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Hafeez rescued the team and added 44 runs for the third wicket stand.

Hafeez was bowled by Mahmudullah after making 25 off 14 balls with four boundaries and a six while Tamim also went down scoring 27 off 29 balls with five boundaries.

Peshawar were reeling at 58 for four when Dawson took the charge with an explosive batting display but no other batsman could give him any support as they were falling one after another.

Dawson was caught behind by Sarfraz Ahmed off  Rahat  after smashing 62 off 35 balls with four huge sixes and six excellent fours.

Wahab Riaz was only the fourth batsman, after Dawson, Tamim and Hafeez, to get into the double figures. He made 15 off seven balls with two fours.
