MUMBAI: After the untimely demise of Bollywood’s leading lady Sridevi, Karan Johar’s next production will now be starring Madhuri Dixit in place of her.

The late actor’s daughter Jahnvi Kapoor took to Instagram to express her gratification and thanks to see one of Bollywood’s legendary actors Madhuri Dixit in a role that her mother was to play initially.

'Abhishek Varman's next film was very close to mom's heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film,’ stated the 21 year old’s Instagram post with a picture of the two stars on the sets of a dance reality show.

The Abishek Varman directorial was to star Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi as the parents of a young couple, reportedly played by Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, in a period drama positioned in the 1940’s with the India-Pakistan partition as the setting.

The roles for Dutt and Sridevi had received official confirmation with Alia and Varun’s roles allegedly being rumors.
