SHARJAH: Former Pakistan captain and Quetta's Gladiators' head coach Moin Khan, has criticised cricket board’s policy for the selection of foreign players in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

During an exclusive interview with Geo News, Moin Khan questioned the credibility of foreign cricketers who claim to revive international cricket in Pakistan by participating in the PSL, but despite charging millions of dollars have not agreed to come here.

Moin Khan said that such players cannot wish well for Pakistan’s cricket and it is the PCB which is to be blamed in this regard for including them in the PSL draft.

Former national team captain said that he does not want to see anything negative about the league and if international cricketers are refusing to play in Pakistan then PCB should take the matter into consideration.

Moin Khan said that the names of the players who had assured to come to play here should have been drafted only.

He also said that players like Kevin Pieterson (Quetta Gladiators) and Eoin Morgan (Karachi Kings), by refusing to come to Pakistan, are putting PSL’s reputation at stake and that they shouldn’t be invited next time.

Kevin is currently representing the Quetta Gladiators’ franchise in the league and last year he turned down the offer to come and play in Pakistan as well.

Talking about double standards, Moin said that Pakistani bowlers Saeed Ajmal and Muhammad Hafeez had been prohibited over their illegal bowling action. However, the umpires and match referees did not take any notice of Sunil Narine’s objectionable bowling action for as long as nine matches that he played, adding that he being a veteran athlete knows that there is something dubious about Narine’s bowling.
