Picture showcasing Amitabh’s look in new movie actually belongs to an Afghan refugee

A local Indian lifestyle and entertainment news website recently shared a picture with its audiences claiming that it is Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s new look in upcoming movie “Thugs of Hindustan”. However, the much-talked about picture turned out to be of an Afghan refugee, clicked by renowned photographer Steve McCurry.

The website also made it a point to laud the makeup skills used on Amitabh that made him look totally different.

Photographer Steve McCurry uploaded the original portrait on his Instagram and said that the man in it is 68-year-old Afghan refugee living in Pakistan named Shabuz.

“I made this portrait of Shabuz, age 68, an Afghan refugee in Pakistan. Many Afghans use only one name,” he wrote.

Although the picture was shared on Steve’s unverified account, it actually is present on his official website gallery.

We know that the resemblance between the two pictures is uncanny, but the fact that the website made such a sweeping statement has surprised everyone.

“Thugs of Hindustan” stars Katrina Kaif, Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

During the recording of the film in Jodhpur recently, Amitabh Bachchan’s health worsened and he had to halt any shoot activities temporarily.
