Fan wills all her money, valuables to Sanjay Dutt before dying
The actor is said to have initiated the procedure to have the willed belongings transferred to Mr Tripathi's family.
Bollywood star Sunjay Datt was shocked to know that a fan left him a large fortune before dying.
According to Indian media, a 62-year woman identified as Nishi Haishchandra Tripathi, willed all her savings and safe deposit locker valuables to the actor.
Dutt's lawyer was informed about the will by a bank on January 15 while the police also approached the actor who was busy shooting for a film in Kolkata.
Identified as a huge fan of Sunjay Dutt, the women is survived by 80-year old mother and three siblings.
The actor is said to have initiated the procedure to have the willed belongings transferred to Mr Tripathi's family.
"We have communicated that Sanjay Dutt will be seeking no claim on the belongings and will adhere to any legal proceedings necessary to transfer the valuables back to the family," Dutt's lawyer Subhash Jadhav was quoted by media as saying.
The Munnabhai actor said: "I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nishi and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it,".
"As actors, we are used to fans naming their children after us, chasing us down the street and even giving us gifts. But this has shocked me," he said.
