Indian musician supports Rahat after Pakistani artists' ban
He further stated that maestros like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Ghulam Ali, although belonging to Pakistan, are an asset to the country and this is evident by the amount of love they receive from their fans here.
MUMBAI: After demands of banning Pakistani artists in India were placed forth by singer-turned-political leader of Bharatiya Janata Party Babul Supriyo, a number of Indian singers turned in favor of music maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, whose song in recently released ‘Welcome to New York’ was called on for deletion from the movie.
Previously director Chakri Toleti had come out in favor of the legendary singer. And now, it is the film’s music director Shamir Tandon who has refuted Babul’s stance and insisted on keeping the song sung by Rahat in the film.
He further stated that maestros like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Ghulam Ali, although belonging to Pakistan, are an asset to the country and this is evident by the amount of love they receive from their fans here.
He said that he particularly is against the ban and respects Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and other Pakistani artists a lot.
