Pakistani feature-film ‘Azad’ lands in cinemas today
The star-studded premiere of ‘Azad’ was held on Thursday on which famed celebrities were present. On this occasion the film’s cast expressed hope for the film to fare well at the box office.
LAHORE: 'Azad' - Pakistan's fifth film to be released this year – saw the light of day as it was presented for showcase in cinemas today (Friday).
The star-studded premiere of ‘Azad’ was held on Thursday on which famed celebrities were present. On this occasion the film’s cast expressed hope for the film to fare well at the box office.
The film features famed actors Sanam Saeed, Salman Shahid, Rehan Sheikh, Nimra Bucha, Sabreen Hasbani, Zahid Ahmed and Sajjad Kiswar. The cast also includes debutants Ajlal Shah and Jawad Rana. A special appearance is also made by Angeline Malik, Imran Abbas and Shumaila Hussain.
Besides the cast of the film, various renowned artists also graced the premiere show with their presence. Included among them were Maria Wasti, Shehzad Sheikh, Atiqa Odho, Aijaz Aslam, Humayun Saeed, Azfar Rehman, Sania Saeed, Yasra Rizvi and Adnan Siddiqui, along with various others.
According to IMDb, the film is an offbeat comedy drama set in modern day Pakistan about a free spirited RJ who hosts a morning show until a chance encounter leads him to confront his own ideas of freedom.
The film is directed and written by veteran actor Rehan Sheikh, who co-produced it with Hassan Naeem, besides playing an important role in the film.
The film along with 2017's Na Maloom Afraad – 2 was recently screened at the South Asian International Film Festival.
