During the nail-biting quarter final of Australian Open held recently, tennis stalwart Rafael Nadal was unable to serve because of a baby crying vehemently during the game.
Nadal got distracted because of the crying even though he tried to keep his head in the game. As a result the play halted for more than a minute, where the baby refused to stop.
This sparked a huge parenting debate online, where the worst of critics blamed the parents for taking a baby to a match at night.
Tennis legend and commentator Jim Courier believed that the parents were at fault.
“This is when a player wants a chair umpire to ask for the baby to be removed ... neither of these guys want to play with that.'
He further added, “What's a baby doing awake at ten o'clock at night anyway?"
Some people believed that Jim was too insensitive for saying this as Australian Open is a family game.
