Margot Robbie reveals her family wanted her to opt for a real job
"My family has no connection to the entertainment industry whatsoever, so when I started acting, everyone was like, 'That's fun, but when are you going to actually get a real job?' And that went on for years," the 27-year-old actress said in an interview.
LOS ANGELES: Hollywood big gun actress Margot Robbie tells that her family could not take her acting career seriously and preferred her to quit acting to get 'a real job'.
Margot told that none of them [her family] had been exposed to the entertainment industry before her - which made her family less empathic towards acting.
"My family has no connection to the entertainment industry whatsoever, so when I started acting, everyone was like, 'That's fun, but when are you going to actually get a real job?' And that went on for years," the 27-year-old actress said in an interview.
Robbie also expressed the fact that her family has no connection to the entertainment industry keeps her grounded.
The 'I, Tonya' actress also shared moments that normally her family's reaction to her cinematic would seem 'impressed' for a few seconds and the next moment it would switch to, "So anyway, the dog threw up today."
While Margot was recently tipped for an Oscar nomination for her role in 'I, Tonya' released last month, she still feels a need to make blockbuster movies in order to pay her security bills.
"And it's like, 'OK, that's a different kind of career.' Because then you need to always do a job that can financially support that lifestyle; you can't just do indie films for the rest of your life because that film back there changed everything and now you have to be able to afford security", the ‘Suicide Squad’ actress told Vogue.
The actress had first appeared in Australian soap before becoming a breakthrough star outside her home country starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘Wolf of Wall Street’.
