Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma finally tie the knot

Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma have finally tied the knot in a private ceremony in Milan Italy.

After months of speculations and weeks of making headlines on a daily basis, it has finally happened.

According to report, the wedding ceremony took place earlier this morning amidst close family and friends.

Anushka made the official announcement later today  in a message on twitter.

She says, "“Today we have promised each other to be bound in love forever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans and well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

Virat Kohli shared the same news.

Earlier, a luxury hotel in Milan had revealed the plans about the much-anticipated wedding Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Although the families have been tight-lipped on the matter, global media is buzz with the ‘wedding of the year’ as more details continue to surface.

Earlier on, reports confirmed that Anushka's family guru had left for Italy for a wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, both Anushka and Virat left for Italy with their families on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Rumours of the wedding started swirling when Kohli pulled out of India´s limited-overs matches against Sri Lanka and Sharma also ducked out of her busy acting schedule in December.

Indian TV channels have gone into overdrive over what they have billed as the "wedding of the year".

Kohli and Sharma, both 29, started dating in 2013 after they met during the filming of a shampoo advert.

The high-profile couple made their first public appearance a year later during a football match.
