‘Namastay Canada’ not a sequel of ‘Namastay London’, insists director

MUMBAI: Vipul Shah has returned to the seat of director after quite a while but his next project ‘Namastay Canada’ became a matter of debate soon after public announcement.

‘Namastay Canada’, the name suggests that it is a sequel of ‘Namastay London’ but the director rejected the assumption.

"I need to put the record straight, this is not a continuation of Namastay London. This is an absolutely new content", says Vipul in a press statement.

Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra were roped in for the lead roles in the film. The couple will be seen together on the screens once again after their debut film Ishaqzaade, which was a success.

Shah expressed gratitude to Akshay for standing by him and giving out the title to the film. "I'm likewise happy about Arjun and Parineeti for joining me for the film. I trust, it ends up being their best journey", he hoped.

Arjun added, “After the big stars like Akshay Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan, Vipul has chosen me to work in his film. I’m really excited to be part of it. Namastay Canada has humor and heart, making it a family entertainer.”

On the other hand, Parineeti was excited over playing the lead role in the film and said, “This is exactly the film I was looking for! It's a desi story with a videshi heart. I'm excited to be directed by Vipul sir with who I have shared an amazing friendship over the last few years."
