Renowned Pakistani, Indian poets attend Urdu Mushaira in US
DALLAS: The association to promote Urdu, Alnoor International, hosted an international Mushaira in Dallas where poets from different countries including India and Pakistan participated.
Noor Amrohvi was the soul and spirit of the mushaira, which was hosted in Irving’s Jack E Singly Auditorium.
The event was presided by Pakistan’s famous poet and educationist Professor Pirzada Qasim. Renowned Indian poet Santosh Annand, Manzar Bhopali, Malikzada Javed, Noshi Gilani from Australia, and Khalid Irfan were among leading poets.
Khalid Irfan , like always, won accolades with his satirical poetry. Indian poets Malikzada Javed and Manzar Bhopali presented the bitter realities of life through their beautiful poetry.
Lyricist Santosh Anand was given standing ovation by the audience as he presented his poetry which has also been sung by famous Indian singers. Santosh Annad while talking to audience said that he uses common and simple words in his poetry, so that his listener can understand complete meaning.
Alnoor International presented an award to Islamic Society of North Texas President Azhar Aziz on his services for the local community.
