MUMBAI: On the occasion of his 52nd birthday, we decided to highlight seven outstanding performances from Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan. Undoubtedly, his flicks give us a reason to be alive each year! Here are seven roles that he performed exceedingly well.

Aamir Khan as an Engineer: The ‘3 idiots’ Aamir Khan was an engineer-inspired character as Ranchoddas Chanchad. You don’t get to see a lot of engineers stress free and full of life but this one looked contradicting. How pleasantly he enacted the role of a genius who would not stop experimenting.

Aamir Khan as the non-believer of love: The role of Akash Malhotra in ‘Dil Chahta Hai' is the most humorous amongst the lot. The one who’d always get himself in a mess and definitely not a guy who wanted long-lasting relationships. Not everyone can afford to be funny at crucial moments.

Aamir Khan as Mangal Pandey: In Mangal Paandey: The Uprising, Aamir Khan essays the legendary soldier who helped spark the 1857 War of Independence. Aamir's gritty role and long hair were the trademarks of the flick.

Aamir Khan as a protagonist: If you have not watched ‘Ghajini’, you are definitely missing out on the best. This mind-blowing role of Aamir Khan as Sanjay Singhania with his memory not lasting for more than 15 minutes is unquestionably good.

Aamir Khan as an ideal teacher: With all the roles that he has played, this one has to be the most emotional one. The overwhelmingly impressive movie, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ was a hit. In this one, Khan played the mastermind teacher, who had put his faith in an affected child for his growth.

Aamir Khan as an Alien: Who would have expected such a performance from Aamir Khan when he delivered the award-winning ‘PK’, leaving us awestruck? The movie revealed to us what it would be like if an alien were to visit India. Needless to say, this was yet another performance from Khan which left us speechless.

Amir Khan as a grappler: This recent hit of Aamir Khan, ‘Dangal’ is an eye-opener for male-dominant societies. Aamir Khan did wonders with his character as a grappler in 'Dangal'.
