LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has summoned a clarification from Chief Selector Moin Khan regarding reports in the media which said he had visited a Christchurch casino prior to the team’s match against West Indies.

If the PCB is not satisfied with Moin Khan’s clarification he can be called back to Pakistan. However, the PCB has not yet issued a show-cause notice to Moin Khan.

Meanwhile, Moin Khan said such reports were being used to malign his character. Moin Khan added that he had not been asked to return by the PCB Chairman Shehryar Khan.

PCB chairman Shehryar Khan spoke to reporters and said Moin Khan had informed him of his visit to the casino.

Shehryar Khan added that Moin Khan said he had gone to the casino two days prior to the West Indies match to eat at the there. “I will make a decision after all the facts are investigated...it will not be right to have Moin return before the investigation is complete.”

The Pakistan cricket team and its management have been under immense scrutiny after losses in opening matches to India and West Indies.

A meeting held by the team management in Brisbane addressed morale among the players who were told to forget old matches and fulfill expectations in their remaining games.
