ISLAMABAD: Rejecting the reports that cricket authorities have barred the players from celebrating win with push-ups, Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board's Executive Committee Najam Sethi on Wednesday said the cricketers should instead celebrate their tons with 100 push ups.
Commenting on the media reports , Najam Sethi tweeted: "there is no ban on pushups! In fact I think players should do 100 pushups when they score a century!!"

Earlier, it was reported that the ban was imposed after some parliamentarians raised objections over the way Pakistani players have been celebrating their victories and personal achievements after England tour.
According to reports, Chairman PCB Executive Committee, Najam Sethi appeared before the NA Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination and assured the members that this only happened during the England tour and the players will not repeat it.
PML-N MNA Rana Afzal raised the issue during the meeting, asking why do they not offer prayers rather than doing push-ups. He wondered why the players remained silent when they lost.
1/2 Sajda/pushups etc done @ discretion of players. PCB highly appreciates fitness training facilities of PakArmy, utilised thrice in 6 yrs

During the recent tour of England, Pakistan team introduced this new mode of celebrating win. After completing century at the Lords, Misbah-ul-Haq did 10 push-ups and later everyone followed.
Najam Sethi informed the members that keeping in mind the controversies of previous tour, the PCB worked hard to ensure that all the players follow guidelines and the efforts paid off.
Another member questioned about the ban on Danish Kaneria, saying he is the only non-Muslim player in the team and facing the ban. To this, Najam Sethi said he has been banned by the England Cricket Board and has lost all the appeals against the ruling. Every cricket board is bound to follow what the ECB has decided in this regard, he added.
