DUBAI: Pakistan easily defeated West Indies by a big margin of nine wickets with 36 balls to spare in the first Twenty20 International here at Dubai Cricket International Stadium on Friday.
Chasing an easy target of 116, they completed the victory in the 15th over for the loss of Sharjeel Khan (22).
Babar Azam made an unbeaten 55 from 37 balls while Khalid Latif was 34 not out.
Both added 88 runs for the unbeaten second wicket stand.
Earlier, the West Indies were bowled out on the penultimate ball for 115 runs.
Left-arm spinner Imad Wasim had grabbed a career best 5-14 in his four destructive overs -- third best figures for Pakistan in all Twenty20 cricket. The previous best was four for 11, against Zimbabwe at Harare a year ago.
