KATSEYE makes big announcement about Sophia Laforteza's return

KATSEYE member Sophia Laforteza will rejoin the group next year after a long hiatus of five months.

As per the latest statement by the group’s label, Hybe and Geffen, the 23-year-old singer will resume group activities in January 2027.

“We are happy to share that Sophia will resume group activities with KATSEYE beginning the first week of January 2027,” the girl group’s label announced on Thursday.

“Sophia has been prioritizing her health and well-being with our full support and resources,” the  the label said in a statement. “While Sophia will not be participating in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in North America, or promotional activities for the remainder of this year, we look forward to welcoming her back as KATSEYE continues this next chapter together in 2027.”

“We are incredibly grateful to EYEKONS for the continued love, support, and understanding you’ve shown Sophia and KATSEYE,” the statement concluded.  “Thank you for standing by her, and we look forward to celebrating her return with you in the new year.”

In August, Sophie announced that she was taking a temporary break from performing with the group to focus on her mental health.

 “Making this decision wasn’t easy, but I’m learning that health has to come first,” she said in a statement at that time.
