Taylor Swift targeted with misogynistic remarks questioning her role model status

As Taylor Swift left millions of fans excited with a new music announcement on Instagram, the pop star was targeted with outrageous commentary about her personal life and choices on the platform.

Taylor's three Instagram posts shared within 24 hours have garnered more than 12 million likes.

The singer announced an expanded version of her 12th studio album titled "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore" on Wednesday, featuring four new songs written after the historic success of the record's release a year ago.

The attention garnered by the singer did not sit well with some of her critics online.

A popular Instagram account shared a post questioning why people see her as a role model.

While her fans objected to what they called a misogynistic post, her critics, including some Trump supporters, praised the controversial take on Taylor Swift.
