First-ever cage fight pits human fighter against 6-foot ‘Terminator’ robot

The world has seen multiple times a cage fight between humans. At one point such a fight between a human and a robot seems like a figment of imagination. Surprisingly, such a cage match is no longer a distant dream. It is now a reality.

A video surfaced online which showed a fight match pitted a fighter Frankiie LaPenna against a 6-foot robot nicknamed Terminator at a Friday night REK event in San Francisco, marking the first-ever human versus robot bout with the US imported T800 platform.

The moment the robot stepped in the cage, its towering physique sent chills in the spine. Even the attendee of the human fighter said, “Dude I am scared for you.” However, the fight started and footage showed the human fighter throwing punches at the robot.

However, the Terminator did not hold back and made a terrifying move against the human. The robot kicked him with his leg and slammed him against the cage walls.

Witnesses described real fear from the robot's forceful strikes, powered by its actuators, while one attendee felt huge relief when it ended. Tesla AI head Ashok Elluswamy noted these demos are remote-controlled and stressed that physical robot safety far exceeds challenges with large AI models.

The video took the internet by storm as it comes at a crucial time when AI warnings have gripped the whole world due to its existential risks posing to humans to the level of extinction.
