Regarding the meeting, a spokesperson for the mayor, Dora Pekec refused to provide any further details regarding topics of discussion. It is expected that there could be issues of mutual interest that go beyond New York.

The meeting comes after Mamdani and Trump held their first in-person meeting in the Oval Office where the two leaders focused on areas of willingness to cooperate despite months of public confrontations during Mamdani’s mayoral campaign.
