Mark Ruffalo sends blunt warning to Rob Bonta amid Paramount merger talks

Mark Ruffalo has warned California attorney general Rob Bonta to not settle down in a legal fight with Paramount Skydance.

For those unaware, Bonta is leading a 12-state antitrust lawsuit battling to block Paramount's proposed $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, as they believe the massive merger violates federal antitrust law.

On Friday, a source told The Wall Street Journal  that Bonta and Paramount were in “advanced talks” to reach a settlement.

Ruffalo took to X and wrote, "Don’t you dare, [Rob Bonta], do not cave."

The Hulk star continued, “5,670 filmmakers put their necks on the line for you to fight this merger. Another 75,000+ and counting have signed to tell you not to concede in just 3 weeks.

"You work for the people — the very people who will be hurt if you let this lousy deal filled with empty promises go forward."

"Please sign to send a message to the AGs and Paramount. Reject the deal. The people don’t want it!” he added.

Since the merger was proposed, Ruffalo has been opposing and being vocal about his opposition.

A Paramount rep even called him “antisemitic” for calling out the CEO of the studio, David Ellisons’ connection with Israel.

Back in June the studio's $111 billion deal for Warner Bros. was approved by the Department of Justice. But it was put on hold after Bonta filed the antitrust lawsuit.
