Saoirse Ronan revealed why reunion with Paul Mescal in The Beatles was ‘easy.’

The upcoming biographical musical drama The Beatles stars Paul as Paul McCartney, and Saoirse portrays his wife, Linda McCartney.

It is worth noting that the two co-stars had previously portrayed a married couple in 2023’s film Foe.

Now, in an interview with People Magazine, Saoirse spoke about their on-screen reunion, stating, “It was so easy. I remember saying that to Sam, when I had my initial meeting with him, that you get so much for free because we played a married couple.”

She went on to say, “But since then, we’ve really stayed in each other’s lives, and we love each other’s partners, and we spend a lot of time together.”

Reflecting on their natural chemistry, the actress added, “I think because I’m in and out so much and I’m not there every single day, the fact that we don’t have to try and find a rapport with each other, and it’s just already kind of built into the performance, is great for everyone.”

As the Irish actress is also starting in the dark comedy Bad Apples she shared what drew her towards it, saying, “I really love that sense of humor. I really like when things are a bit skewed and a bit off.”

She noted, “And I think there’s a lot of dark humor, especially from the U.K. and the early 2000s that I’m a huge fan of. So that’s very much when it comes to my taste, that’s what I appreciate the most, I suppose.”

“So I was just happy to do it really. And I knew as well that it was definitely going to make people feel uncomfortable, but I think people are used to being in that space more nowadays anyway,” the Oscar-nominated actress further added.

It is pertinent to mention that The Beatles is set to be released in April 2028.
