Chris Evans gets targeted by Anya Taylor-Joy in ‘Sacrifice’ new trailer

The new dark comedy and thriller, Sacrifice, stars Chris Evans as Mike Tyler, who is an action movie actor and is caught in a crisis, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Joan, who is an extreme cult leader.

The official premise of the movie stated, “During a star-studded charity gala brimming with celebrities, billionaires, and empty speeches, a movie star in the midst of an existential crisis (Evans) is taken hostage by a radical warrior (Taylor-Joy) and her devoted followers.”

As per People magazine, in the newly released trailer of the thriller, Anya’s character can be seen asking the struggling action star, “What is your most deeply held belief?”

“The power of stories to change the world. What’s yours?” Chris said.

“I believe in the cleansing power of death,” Anya added in the trailer.

However, speaking with the outlet film’s director and co-writer, Romain Gavras called both starring actors “wonderful actors.”

He went on to say, “I think there is something inside of them that they both could draw from to embody their characters.”

“I think each of us has a part in ourselves that fantasizes about throwing billionaires and celebrities into a volcano,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sacrifice is set to release on October 16, 2026.
