Prince Harry reaches out to King Charles as tensions escalate
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be frustrated by the behaviour of palace officials
Prince Harry has reached out to his father King Charles after returning to Britain with his family, the royal insiders have claimed.
Speaking to The i Paper, the close confidant said the Duke and his father have spoken privately since his return even as tensions between the Palace and the royal couple spill into public view.
The insider said, “Their relationship with the Royal Family I don’t think is likely to influence where they want to live."
Archie and Lilibet doting parents are said to be frustrated by the behaviour of palace officials but they make a distinction between the actions of the “institution” and family relationships.
Meghan and Harry blame the King’s advisors, even though Charles firmly believes the Sussexes can never be half-in and half-out, undertaking official royal duties while making money commercially.
The fresh claims came days after King Charles said his son Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan are not to be considered "working members of the royal family" after they moved back to Britain from the United States.
In the letter Charles makes clear that the couple's position is "akin to private citizens" and that they should not be addressed as his and her royal highness.
The letter issued by the Lord Chamberlain, the most senior official in the Royal Household, said that following the couple's relocation there had been "a number of requests for guidance".
The letter was issued "to help avoid doubt or confusion".
"It is well known that in January 2020 the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of the sovereign, and are no longer working members of the royal family," it said.
