Savannah Guthrie jokes about bringing 'shiny new apple' in TODAY return
Savannah Guthrie has been away on a break for a while
Savannah Guthrie has been missed. That is what her TODAY co-host Craig Melvin said when she returned on-air.
“Look who’s back, Savannah Guthrie; we missed you!” he said when he welcomed the anchor.
Savannah, who has been on break for two weeks, replied, “It’s back-to-school week for everybody. I’m bringing you a shiny new apple at 7:30.”
While on vacation, the anchor and her husband were spotted at the U.S. Open exhibition event at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
There, Savannah watched tennis champion Roger Federer play Andy Roddick.
But this isn't the first time the TODAY anchor has taken a break recently.
Earlier, it was because of the NBC show Wordle, based on The New York Times word game, which will air in 2027.
Meanwhile, there is still little detail about Nancy, Savannah's mother, as the investigation continues.
However, ex-FBI agent Scott Augenbaum said her case is far from gone cold.
“This is by no means a cold case," he told local Tucson news station KOLD.
"A cold case is something that has been closed; it’s been put away," he added.
"So in my opinion, this case is not closed at all. It’s still being held very tightly guarded by law enforcement, which I would expect at this point in time," the former FBI agent noted.
Nancy has been missing since Feb. 1 from her home near Tucson, Arizona.
