Seth Green credits 'Beverly Hills, 90210' for his role in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'

Seth Green recently got candid and opened up about the demands he had to fulfil for his WB series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

For those unaware, Green, who joined the series in the sophomore season in 1997, played the role of Oz, a werewolf, alongside an ensemble cast, including:

• Nicholas Brendon as Xander Harris
• Alyson Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg
• Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia Chase
• Michelle Trachtenberg as Dawn Summers

• James Mater as Spike
• Kristine Sutherland as Joyce Summers

During his recent appearance on the How to Make It with Emily podcast, the 52-year-old American actor and film producer revealed that he was asked to remove his shirt in front of the camera on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Green said, “That kind of show, especially when you get cast in like romance stuff. I’d already seen half the people on that show without their clothes on. Right? It’s WB. WB was like, ‘let’s see how naked we can get these kids. Y’all are 18, right?’ That’s kind of where we were.”

The Without a Paddle star went on to admit that going shirtless was something he took “very seriously.”

He stated, “I had come from a generation that watched both Luke Perry and Jason Priestley topless in almost every episode of Beverly Hills, 90210. I was like, all right, I’m going to do a bunch of sit-ups that are like... Make this worthwhile.”

It is pertinent to mention that Seth Green, who has worked in many famous shows such as Family Guy, The Italian Job, Star Wars, Scooby-Doo 2, and others, left Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2000, which ran for seven seasons from March 1997 to May 2001.
